"Best" goal in Premier League History.

If it's the goal I think you're talking about, well it was a fine goal. If Balotelli score that, there would be no 'it was a shin', it would have been voted our greatest ever PL goal.

If we're talking about best goals in PL history though, well Di Canio's scissor kick shits on anything Rooney's overhead kick did. Yeboah's v Wimbledon does too and more recently, that Cisse effort last night.

For your man kicking about the street this may well be true but for a professional football player i disagree. They have better reflexes, anticipation, timing and athleticism to achieve this and mean it. Silva doesn't hope he will control the ball and beat 4 defenders with a through ball by luck he can see it before anyone else just like Shrek could see he could connect with that ball when it looped up in the air
They are better athletes and have better reflexes but don't try telling me that you can aim for a top or bottom corner with one of those kicks. It's not like a free-kick specialist who can judge the speed, whip and flight of the ball. Sinclairs overhead was better than shreks but they are all pure luck. They just look great when the 1 in 20 actually go in.

But then you might as well say any long range shot is just luck
When the ball is in play, most of them are. Danny mills wasn't aiming for the top corner, neither was DeJong. They just belted it towards goal. 1 in 100 go in. Technique is something completely different, like the way Silva can curl a shot deliberately into the corners or Balotelli side-footing his goal against the rags. Suarez 3rd goal the other night wasn't hit and hope either. He judged how much power and height was needed. The only skill in the overhead kick is timing the flight of the ball to make a clean connection. Anything beyond that is hope.

26% for a lucky hit and 19% for Bergkamp's absolute masterpiece.... *sigh* i don't get this shit.

He has said it was deliberate but the one he scored at Leicester City was better in his opinion.

You just cannot say he didn't have magical control.

Trevor Sinclair overhead , ANY of Matt Le Tissiers contendors or Bergkamp when he flicked it round the defender and finished very nicely. Or Papiss v Chelsea ;)

Sinclairs was in the FA cup, still the best o/h kick ive seen though although it was obviously fluky as it came off his foot. As did this one in the Prem:

Best goal in the premier league for various reasons isn't even in doubt
