Was watching an episode of Human Planet on Eden last night, and the hunting/scavenging technique of a certain tribe of Bushmen was absolutely amazing.
They wait for a lion kill, and then when the whole pride of about 15 fully grown lions is just about to get stuck in to the dead prey and tear it apart,3 of these fearless tribesmen silently appear from behind cover, and then just walk up to the whole pride and literally scatter them, without a single word or gesture.
The lions are so unnerved by the swift and silent approach of the 3 men that they leave the prey and slink off into the bush for a few vital minutes.
This allows time for the Bushmen to slice off the rear haunch of the antelope, and then to make an unhurried retreat before the lions get their nerve back and quickly return to their kill.
There are no special skills required for this technique, just a huge amount of courage and bravery,to literally "Walk into the lions den".
To face down 1 lion would be absolutely amazing, but for 3 small men to face down 15 huge lions is unbelievable.
