Bluemoon as a funeral song

I did Dean Martin's version for my dad's funeral

Had this one for my mums and a few years later my girlfriends,I still get a tear when I hear it

I'm thinking of having the AGÜEROOOOOOOOOOOOO moment at mine, all the blues attending will be in tears remembering the QPR match and it will give me the chance to piss off my rag friends one last time

Not planning on going anytime soon but I'm sure it'll get played at some stage when I do.
I always think its a shame I won't be there for the piss up.

From the closing credits of Bluemoon Rising, brilliant version

That's the one I'm having. Best version ever. I would pay anything to have the beautiful Margo Timmins herself sing it live as well.

A frequent request at our workplace. Not quite as popular as 'My Way' or 'Time To Say Goodbye', but nevertheless, a frequent request. We've probably got about ten versions.

This version will be at my funeral (hopefully not for a long time yet!)
This version was recorded for the Jimmy Grimble film

Just wondering if there's anybody on here who's been to a funeral of a loved one or friend who had Bluemoon as the entrance or exit music?

My Dad is adamant he wants Bluemoon playing as people are walking in. But as much as i like the idea, I can imagine every time I hear it being sung the emotional attachment would be too much and id just end up breaking down or getting tearful.

Funnily enough last week my next door neighbour came round wanting to know exactly which version we sing at City. The reason is that he is a Lay Preacher and he was conducting a Funeral Service and the family had asked for Bluemoon to be played during the ceremony as the deceased was a big City fan!
