"Citizens"

I often hear us called 'The Blues' or the 'Sky Blues' which is ok I suppose, but tradition is important, as we are neither Birmingham or Coventry City. Fans of these clubs would be rightly miffed as these nicknames have been theirs since their inception; we are, and forever shall be, 'The Citizens.'

Well put Citizen.

I've always thought of us as nickname 'City'. Over the years I eventually began to think this was just because of my Manchester roots, where it's City and United.

But since we've come back into the public eye again more and more pundits are calling us 'City' and consigning the silly 'MAN City' to the history bin and the to likes of Niall Quinn and Trevor Francis.

So now I'm comfortable with 'City' again as a national nickname. Citizens is reserved for bad teletext articles.
