City close to signing right-back Sime Vrsaljko?

If we are to play a 3-5-2, wouldn't Angelino be perfect for that LWB role? Everyone says at the moment he is good at getting forward but not great at defending.

Understand this may not be the right thread for this.

It's a shame if we've missed out on a target but it may be we have eyes on another target but we really need a pair of new full backs. Zabaleta looks like he's off and Kolarov has to go.
I like the way, this is worded :)

According to the City Watch article - "Crossing from the left – his left foot isn’t great – he’s weak in the air and is occasionally guilty of giving away cheap fouls in Serie A which he’d probably get away with in the Premier League due to how the games are often officiated." Oh dear

I'd hope he isn't, Sagna is turning 34, isn't that great going forward and could decline at any moment, and Clichy is bang average and is lacking a proper footballing brain. I'm going to cry if Kolarov somehow stays.

Really hope we won't lose out on Vrsaljko, but it's looking likely. We have to go for Fabinho if we do miss out, other suggestions like Carvajal or Bellerin aren't happening.
Me too. Biggest improvement City can make is the moving of Kolarov out.

Agreed
Well past his sell by date
A left back who can't defend!
A leftback who can't do much of anything. He whips crosses in, takes poweful shots ( mostly from silly angles) and he fights over freekicks.
He can neither defend or attack effectively.

Agree with all you say.
Still believe the minimum a left back should be able to do us defend...he can't even do that!
Should have got rid of him long ago.
Pep will.
