What a load of rubbish, Mancini and City KNOW the rules you idiot.

We only have to sell 4 players at the MOST, matter of fact we don't even need to sell them, we could just simply select them only for FA Cup, Carling Cup and Europa League games instead and not play them in League matches.

You need to check the rules yourself before posting dross like this, as players younger than or currently still only 21 years of age, can play this season, without having to be part of the "25 man registered squad".

To get a squad of the following:

Hart, Given, Taylor (GKs)
Zabaleta, Boateng, Kompany, Richards, Lescott, K Toure, Kolarov, Garrido (Defs)
SWP, A Johnson, M Johnson, Vieira, de Jong, Barry, Y Toure, Silva, Ireland (Mids)
Tevez, Adebayor, Robinho, Bellamy, Santa Cruz (Atts)

That is 25 players, and the only ones missing are JO, BRIDGE & ONOUHA that would otherwise require to be registered.

If he signs Milner, then either Vieira or M Johnson miss out (Johnson is injured until Oct at the earliest anyhow)....of the Prem select team, but still able to play in the domestic cup comps.
If he signs Balotelli, then NOBODY misses out, as he is still only 19 years old!!.
If Torres was to sign, then adios RSC (another who is always injured).

The likes of Cunningham, Boyata, Mee, Trippier, Ibrahim, Tutte, Weiss, Nimley, Guidetti and should he sign (Balotelli), will all feature as part of the "unlimited number of under 21 year olds).

GET YOUR FACTS correct before printing garbage, or the fans who happen to know something about their club, or even those who take an interest and do some research will gladly put you right"

I've wanted to post exactly this recently, but couldn't be arsed. Thanks for doing it for me! Journos and fans of other clubs are as thick as pig shit. They see we have 37 players and automatically think we have to have a "firesale" of 12 players. We don't.

From reading the news, it could be construed that City have far too many foreign mercenaries to comply with the new hown-grown rules, and far too larger squad for the young guys to play regularly, so we must, ergo, be intending to sell all our British players to our rivals for bargain prices. The new rule is 25 players over 21y/o, and I think of that eight have to be UK trained?

If I could draw everyone's attention to the below, excluding Academy players on loan and under 21, and ask them to compare this with the Arsenal, Chelsea, Man Utd, Liverpool and Spurs squads to see if City's is as OTT as proclaimed:

One 11 - 4 UK trained, 1 trained at City:
Hart, Boateng, Toure, Lescott, Kolarov, Silva, Toure, Barry, Adam Johnson, Adebayor, Tevez

Another 11 - 6 UK, 4 City:
Given, Zabaleta, Richards, Onuoha, Bridge, Wright-Phillips, Ireland, De Jong, Kompany, Bellamy, Santa Cruz

Spares - 2 UK, 1 City
Taylor, Vieira, Garrido, Jo, Caicedo, Robinho, Michael Johnson

So, in all, that's 29 players over 21, 12 UK trained, 6 trained at City. Of the above, we will sell or loan, Garrido, Jo, Caicedo, Robinho and Santa Cruz. That leaves a total of 24, so one more striker and we are at 25, with two top players for each position and three dodgy spares. Even if we buy Milner as well, he's only one over so no great panic.

Where in the above is this urgency to sell off all our British players, for s*** all, to the Scousers/Spuds? Nowhere that I can see.

Wrong. Players under 21, regardless of how long they have been in the country, dont need to be registered and of the 25 over 21s registered 8 need to have been registered with a club in england or wales for at least 3 years before their 21st birthday.

Just read the thread you linked and good on neil allen for trying to get a straight answer and questioning LAZY journalism.
Maybe city fans should have a policy of pointing out all these untrue and sometimes slanderous claims people are making as often as possible, and try to get some comments from the writers, for lack of a better word, of these so called articles.
