Covid and travel discussion

Seems pretty clear now that the failure to lift restrictions on UK travellers going to amber list countries was more to do with getting people spending money in the UK rather than abroad, and a ham fisted attempt at putting pressure on some EU countries by preventing UK nationals from holidaying there. All with the travel industry potentially being largely sacrificed as part of the process, which fits in with reducing choice long term and keeping people in the UK due to the increased costs of going abroad using what will be left of the travel industry. Fucking hate this government - and that's not a Tory thing, it's due to them deliberately restricting the choices of millions of the population for the long term to mitigate the Brexit shitshow. Brexit was supposed to open up Britain to the world but all it's managing is closing the world to Britons, initially using the pandemic as an excuse but longer term making it unviable due to cost. They will ultimately fail but by then most of the UK owned travel industry will be a distant memory replaced by foreign owned companies that will mop up the business.

Spot on.
