Denis Law on his 'Lost 6 goals' against Luton

Further to above post,we went on a North Western bus from Greenhalgh,s newsagent shop on Portway,It was our usual mode of transport back in the “Olden Days”.For some reason late 60s trip to Newcastle was full.Don,t remember much about the return journey, perhaps some other “Oldy”might know the reason, for state of oblivion.
Was the pitch,inyour opinion..unplayable?
Another poster has already said it had stopped raining by the time the ref had called it off.
When u consider the state of ,for example, the baseball ground throughout the 70s,and,closer to home,Maine Road for the Ballet on ice December 67,it does make u wonder.
Iric the ref for the intial Luton game had a very distinctive name...prob sir anthony taylors dad or somat, lol

UPi..ed it down for most of the game, then the rain stopped,so conditions were not going to get worse,10mins later abandons the match.Thought his name was .Anker.

Funnily enough,Law himself stated that the pitch for the 2nd game at Kenilworth rd "was in a worse state than it ever was for saturdays game"
Sods Law i suppose.
