Donald Trump

Biden’s not even started yet and current has 3x the cash on hand in his campaign.
The Republican party is getting exactly what it deserves. With Trump now in control of the Republican National Committee, having installed his hand-picked lackey to lead the organization and his daughter-in-law as co-chair, there's little doubt as to where most Republican funds are headed - it's to benefit Trump, including payment of his enormous legal bills.

Republicans running for political office are likely to see reduced - or perhaps very reduced - funding from the RNC and this will impact their ability to win election in 2024.

Yep. Literally none of them have any right to complain either.

Wow. "Strong man", "brown shirts", all without calling Trump a fascist.
Maddow is an erudite intellectual: MSNBC are lucky to have her as host.

I've not had the chance to read her book "Prequel: An American Fight Against Fascism" but I plan to before year's end.

There's a fascinating and vastly under-reported history about America's flirtation with fascism. Just prior to WWII a growing faction of Americans, including heroic figures such as Charles Lindbergh, were openly in support of Hitler and his nationalist ideas including the belief in racial purity and the role that eugenics could play towards the betterment of society.

Those ignorant of history are doomed to repeat it. Trump's rise to power and the threat that it may portend - is ample reason to read Maddow's book.

Britain was much the same.

A very very diluted version.

Everywhere was the same. It all stems from people distorting On the origin of species and the scientific boom of the late 19th century. It gave people a reason to shrug off christian ideas about men being equal, created heirarchies and introduced the idea that all organisms are in a fight against each other for finite resources, all of which was used to justify some of the most evil things imaginable, all done by people who were firmly convinced they were on the right side of history and doing good.

I think it's a topic we don't see taught or talked about enough - the general understanding of movements like Trump's would be much better understood if people knew more about the intellectual state that lead to Nazism emerging as well as the economic and poltical stuff we are taught about.

There is two issues here. The decent Republicans will see what is going on and down tools. The maga idiots will fill the space and they won't have the experience or intelligence to do a good job. That is on top of the draining of cash out of the machine.

The net result will be a significant deterioration in the ground game and the grass roots political activity. Its unprecedented and another factor adding to the unknowns of this race.

For anyone who doesn't know this story:

Well we're definitely seeing a backlash against evolutionism...in fact failures of evolution are exponentially booming
