Not near any puddles around manchester
I was staying over in manchester at the mrs place tonight but I've now got to drive back to nottingham in half hour does anyone know what the main roads are like.
As anyone drove over woodhead pass A628 and have they gritted it ?
If not anyone gone down the M1 south and the M62 leeds way.

Any info would be great

I can't help with exact advice, but I think you'd be daft to try Woodhead if it has been (or still is) snowing. If anything happens, it could be a while before help arrives. Stick to the most major of roads, ie the motorways.

Cheers I know what your saying mate but funnily enough woodhead probably gets more grit on it than any other road I know over the past couple of years, there's ususally gritters on there waiting so wondered if anyone had drove down it tonight.

Woodhead closed mate. <a class="postlink" href="http://www.theaa.com/traffic-news/index.jsp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.theaa.com/traffic-news/index.jsp</a>

A628
A628 Woodhead Pass South Yorkshire, both ways between A616 and A57 Woolley Lane
A628 South Yorkshire - A628 Woodhead Pass closed in both directions between Flouch roundabout and Gun Inn traffic lights, because of snow.

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/travelnews/manchester/trafficcameras/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.bbc.co.uk/travelnews/manches ... iccameras/</a>

That will give you access to all the cameras on the M62/M1 You can check the roads before you set off. Just click on a camera to view and on a new map for more cams.
