According to Lee and Gaughan, U18s boss Carlos Vicens is moving up to first team duties with particular responsibility for set pieces and for integrating academy players stepping up.
Nicolas Jover, part of Pep’s team with responsibility for set pieces since 2019, is leaving the club.
Brian Barry-Murphy, whose entertaining and attacking but defensively fragile Rochdale team were relegated from League One last season, is apparently in talks to take over as manager of the EDS following the departure of Enzo Maresca to Parma.
Vicens’ promotion still leaves a vacancy as U18 manager.

Good luck to Maresca.
Maybe see him back here one day in a more senior role.
He definitely seemed to have something about him, will be interesting to see if he can get Parma promoted back to Serie A.
The club must really rate Vicens as well, I thought the EDS team would have been his natural next step but that is quite the promotion for him.

Brian Barry-Murphy is the son of Jimmy Barry-Murphy who is a legend in GAA. Funny how it's such a small world.

Our best set piece specialist by a country mile was Domenec Torrent, we were excellent in both boxes when he was our man.
Sitting here I agree, but do wonder if we saw the stats if there would really be a big difference and if it’s just perception that makes us think it was so much better.
