The 5 sec penalty is because it was to gain a direct advantage over another driver. It was harsh, given the ridiculous drive by Verstappen, but correct.

Just to be clear, I'm complaining about the fucking introduction of the drivers.don't see why people are complaining. Corner cutting to overtake someone has always been punished, it's always been the case and was the correct decision.
Verstappen was not on the track when he overtook Kimi and if you allow that then anyone can cut the final corner when behind and just overtake people to take a position.

you can't overtake people when you've corner cut, hence why people have to give back positions all the time. It's the most basic of rules.
