Reluctant to give it it's own thread such is the lack of credibility it warrants when you look at the team. But, we have 6 players in the FIFPRO team of the year and pep wins best manager so they deserve their dues.

Courtois;
Walker, Stones, Dias;
Bernardo, Bellingham, De Bruyne; Haaland, Mbappe, Messi, Vinicius.

Rodri inexplicably left out which immediately invalidates the awards.

Not sure what's the more ridiculous decision of the night, having a 3-3-4 lineup to shoehorn in as many forwards as possible and omitting Rodri or the fact courtois makes the best 11 in net despite the fact Ederson won the best goalkeeper award. Make that make sense?

Anyway, Congrats to all our blues, thorpughly deserved. what a time we live in when we get to see the awards dominated by Manchester City players.

Awards for films or TV shoes make sense because those things aren’t competitive. But the whole point of sport is that you find out who the best was on the pitch. They don’t do an awards ceremony after the Olympics to decide who the ‘best runner’ is. The medals do that.

Maybe it’s not been updated, but Wikipedia says he’s scored 1 goal in 6 in the MLS. They’re so desperate to keep him relevant when he’s basically retired. As Ricky Gervais said, it’s a bit of metal that some confused journalists wanted to give you so they could have a selfie with you. And who wouldn’t want a selfie with the best footballer ever?
