Fire on Ashton Old Road

    From Stockport aim for around Ashburys or Gorton monestry. The old Rd is open down as far as Alan Turing way if coming from Ashton direction. That's the advice from Devon. I'm on the tram from town.

    Looked open to me when walking down from the opposite end about 15 minutes ago but obviously didn’t get as far as Fairfield St as I veered off just before Alan Turing Way. However, it looked open beyond there as well. Hardly any traffic though

    It’s closed from Fairfield to Alan Turing way very quiet just walked from Devonshire st to ground

    Fair enough mate - thought there were cars stopped at the traffic lights where ATW is heading into town. Still loads of white-ish smoke billowing out of Wing Fat as well.

    Smoke was horrible. Really acrid, wonder what we were all breathing in?
