So, what potential first XI's are we looking at then....

City:

------------------Hart---------------
Richards--Kompany---Lescott---Clichy
-----------Yaya-------NDJ-----------
-----Silva--------Tevez------Nasri---
-----------------Aguero--------------

Possibilities? RVP (New signing?), Balo, Barry (injured), Zabaleta

Utd:

-----------------de Gea--------------
Jones----Ferdinand------Vidic-----Evra
-----------Carrick-----Scholes--------
Valencia---------Kagawa----------Nani
-----------------Rooney--------------

Possibilities? Rafael, Smalling, RVP (New signing?), Lucas (New signing?), Young, Welbeck, Chicharito

Chelsea:

------------------Cech---------------
Ivanovic----Cahill--------Terry----Cole
------------Mikel------Ramires--------
-----Mata------Lampard-----Hazard---
-----------------Torres---------------

Possibilities? Luiz, Essien, Oscar, Hulk (New signing?), Sturridge

Arsenal:

----------------Szneszny-------------
Sagna-Mertersacker-Koscielny-Vermaelen
-------------Song----Sahin-----------
Walcott----------Cazorla--------Podolski
------------------Giroud----------------

Possibilities? RVP, Wilshere (injured), Arteta, Gervinho, The Ox

With signings still in the offing, I genuinely think this season could be the best Prem yet.

It's a squad game these days, so there isn't really the need for a regular XI anymore...always the potential for approx 18 or 19 'regular' starters. I don't much care what 'teams' our rivals select. We clearly have the best team and squad, and only complacency will see us finish below 1st place again. The rags are our only challengers imo. It also looks like being a 3-5-2 formation to start with, if pre-season is any indication. The side will evolve throughout the season, but if everybody was fit and on form, my first XI would be:

------------------------Hart-------------------------
-----Richards---------Kompany--------Lescott--------
Milner------------Yaya Toure---De Jong---------Kolarov
--------------------David Silva-----------------------
---------------Aguero---------Tevez-----------------

-------------------------Hart
---Richards---Kompany---Lescott---Clichy
-------------------Yaya------Barry
-------Nasri-----------Tevez---------Silva
------------------------Aguero

Possibilities? Zabaleta, Kolarov, Agger (New signing?), de Jong, De Rossi (New signing?), Balotelli, Van Persie (New signing?), Dzeko

Spurs will be interesting to watch next season. I expect:

------------------Friedel/New GK----------------

Assou-Ekotto---Vertonghen----Kaboul----Walker

-----------Huddlestone-------Sandro-------------
------------------Modric/New CM-----------------

Lennon-----------Hopefully Ade--------------Bale

Why is Walker LB and Ekotto RB?

I expect

GK: Friedel

RB: Walker
CB: Vertonghen
CB: Kaboul
LB: Ekotto

CM: Modric
CM: Sandro
CM: Sigurdsson

RW: Hulk
ST: Damiao
LW: Bale

That would win the title in my opinion.

In your dreams.

Might just pip the Terrorists, Everton who will take six points of us for seventh place.

I think we'll sell Modric and hopefully get Moutinho, Ade, and Leandro in. So we're looking at something like

Friedel
Walker Vert Kaboul BAE
Sandro Moutinho
Lennon Sig/VDV Bale
Ade/Leandro

Probably good enough for top 4 imo. I doubt we'll get Hulk though and don't think I'd want him for the money being suggested.

1 - No it wouldn't.

2 - Hulk? Have a word with yourself.

3 - Modric? The same Modric who refused to go on the pre-season tour? The same Modric who is being touted around Europe to the highest bidder? You may have held on to him last Summer but to do so again would be tempting fate, his attitude may well have held up last year but with no International tournament to keep in form for I'd predict an unmotivated and under performing Modric if he's forced to stay at Spurs for another season.
