Portsmouth, Port Vale, Glasgow Rangers in or about to go into administration with Portsmouth on the brink of going out of business.

Birmingham & Coventry with transfer embargoes due to late presentation of accounts, how many more clubs are waiting to join this ever growing band?

There must be some premiership clubs who are struggling, if it hadn't been for Mansoor I shudder to think what a mess we could have been in.

My only surprise is a club hasn't gone bust already. Lower league clubs have, such as Chester / Halifax and it is only a matter of time before a league club does go under, with Pompey clear favourites.

It amazes me that the FA have simply allowed clubs to live outside of their financial capabilities for so long. A tighter control of clubs accounts and what they are allowed to spend on wages should have been introduced years ago to prevent clubs racking up huge debts and borrowing next seasons TV money 9 months in advance (and then borrowing the following seasons TV money 12 months in advance and so on).

Equally amazing is there are always knights in shining armour turning up at lower league clubs wanting to rescue them - when clearly the debts they have incurred will just continue to hang over the club unless they can unearth a star player, get Stretford in the FA Cup or the new owners are bent and flog the ground and move in with another club.

Let's just say that football went bust and there was no money to be had anywhere?

Imagine the scene?

City and united fielding 11 amateurs each both wearing the same kits we wear now.

We'd still fill the stadium and football would still be played.

There must be at least 2 or 3 clubs in the same state in the premier league yet it's probably kept quiet so it doesn't "spoil the brand".

At least La Liga has admitted the problem.

Perhaps Villa despite how they sugarcoat it.

Both Birmingham clubs in the shit would be disastrous for the city.

This is one of the things I don't get about people buying clubs...... City's owners and Abramovich I can understand, they have endless supplies and it's pocket money, but the likes of the American's at Villa, the Boston Red Sox bloke at Liverpool and the Indian owners at Blackburn, Chueng at Birmingham, Ray Ranson when at Cov...... what are they in it for? English football doesn't make any money (the rags apart) so why are these so called astute businessmen lining up to take over clubs in debt that will continue to be in debt?
