Someone posted that earlier in a cryptic Fred dead post that was interpreted as a pun.

They always wanted to hold onto Fred whilst in the CL and City wanted now I think.

That was the hold up by the sounds of it.

So maybe they have just decided to leave it until June rather than try to do a deal for a player they cannot take until then.

True but Drinkwater was there to support him. Much different playing in a 442 than 433.

Fernandinho eases the pressure on the back 4 while Fred may add to it but let’s see how it works.

Despite the Laporte deal being a certainty for a decent while, it has shown how time consuming even those types of deals can be. I doubt this deal could be done by Wednesday.

Especially if he's away on that training camp with Shakhtar.

Sadly, Yaya is nowhere near his best and is nolonger good enough to start every week, if Fern got injured! Behind CB, a DM player is a BIG need....if this doesnt happen now, hopefully we go back in for him in the summer..
