Gareth Barry

lol. He looked like he was running through treacle. Reminded me of Peter Reid against Maradona.
He got injured in that Spurs game.
Went through with a super human effort to get fit enough for the world cup.
Says it all that he made it but it backfired in that game.

Had to have my twopenneth here.

Criminally underrated.

Did his job to near perfection every week, but never sought the headlines or was rarely included in them. Got caught for pace against the cream on occasion, but who doesn't?

His positional play and reading of the game (like Fernandinho), meant he didn't have to go around making slide tackles to cover up his mistakes.

I'd take Barry in his prime, before De Jong in his prime.

And don't forget, David Silva voted for him as POTY in 2012...knows his onions does Merlin.

Where is Baz these days?
Always thought he was a great professional and a good role model just not on the public eye enough to get the credit he deserved
