Sat in the main stand with my dad that day and remember the goal like it was yesterday. A mate of mine at junior school, was mascot for that game too.

I watched the reserves and youth teams on a semi-regular basis back then. It was obvious that he was going to be a decent player and I was very disappointed when we let him go.

Yes played in the 89 Youth cup final that lost to Watford.
8 of that team went on to play for the first team:
Margetson, Sheron, Lennon, Ashley Ward, Quigley, MIchael Hughes, Taggart and another one hit wonder, Ian Thompstone.
