Dress smartly dressed, be polite, simply ask to see the manager and say " Hello, I would appreciate it if you would look at my CV." When they say "Yes of course" Say "Thank you" and leave.
Give it 2-3 days then phone, ask for the manager and say "Hello, I handed my CV to you on ...day and was wondering if (a.) you would like to interview me (or if not) (b.) any feedback?"

that is the best policy, politeness, and courtesy. gets you a long way in the end. there is a lot to be said for sucking up to people. the men you see driving around in the cars you love are usualy suck up merchants.
