Sad when another part of your childhood dies. :( Ian Lavender played the Pike character absolutely brilliantly. RIP.

Absolutely brilliant comedy show wonderfully written and wonderfully acted, every actor was perfectly cast from the verger to Sgt Wilson and Capt Mainwaring impossible to repeat as we no longer have the actors or writers, as shown in the remakes that were cronic. RIP Ian last of a great bunch.

Sad that for many he will always be the man that tried to coerce Martin Fowler in Arthur's potting shed. For me he'll always be pike.

Yes, the vicar (Frank Williams) died last year. He was the second to last.Can't be many of the original cast left with us now.
Just checked, he's the last of the cast to pass away. I guess it was to be expected, seeing as the last episode was in 1977.

I have seen the Don't tell him Pike numerous times on the news today ( and in my life really after re-runs ) - I know it word for word yet I still piss myself laughing. Timeless.
