The Mirror are claiming that Inter want to offer Patrick Vieira a contract to be their new manager when Mazzarri leaves, potentially next summer.

Inter Milan keen on making Manchester City's Patrick Vieira their new boss

The Italian giants see the former Arsenal man as a "modern type" of coach with an impressive CV

Manchester City’s rising coaching star Patrick Vieira is a shock target to become new boss at his old club Inter Milan, writes Alan Nixon of the Sunday People .

The Frenchman has been put in charge of City’s next generation of stars this season, as he cuts his teeth in that side of the game.

The 37-year-old is a very popular figure behind the scenes at the Etihad and has worked in several departments on his way to becoming a leading power at the club.

Many see Vieira as a future City manager, as he is groomed in all of the skills needed for the top job – but now Inter have put him top of their wish list.

The former Arsenal hero was also a legend at Inter as a player and insiders in Italy reveal that he is seen as their next coach, possibly as early as next summer.

Vieira was at Inter during a glory spell in their history and although he did not always start, he was seen as a natural leader.

City spotted that in Vieira when he joined three years ago and he has fitted in smoothly on the youth and recruitment side.

He is seen as a ‘modern’ type of coach with his reputation and respect all part of an impressive CV. But the arrival of Manuel Pellegrini as City’s first-team coach will mean the chances of Vieira being fast-tracked at the Etihad is remote.

However, Inter have their sights on him and have promoted young bosses recently. Walter Mazzarri is in charge for this season, but will need to produce in Serie A this term.

Well; I'd imagine that there was always the possibility that PV would possibly want to move into coaching/management at some point. The fact that it is one of his former clubs may be a strong attraction to him. I'd be sorry to see him go; the influence and authority someone like him must have on our young players can only be imagined.

I reckon he should go..I mean who in their right mind would want to hang around and be top dog at one of the best academy projects in world football.

I think Paddy is being lined up for the big job here. He'll know what system we have in place and I think he'll be happy to bide his time with it. 2/3 years at youth level, learning that side of things as well as our system and then he can be instated without any real disruption.
