He could be our Joker like in It's a Knockout and we could play our Joker in a game we our winning 1-0 with 10 minutes to go and Jonny comes on gives away 2 penalties, gets sent off for the first pen and we lose the match 2-1. Genius.

In Peps system I completely agree. Not saying Evans is better but Mangala is almost the antithesis of a Pep CB.

It also comes down to what is expected of a 4th choice cb. Mangala has more potential than Evans but needs a lot of work. He needs to be playing regularly if only to maintain his confidence. He might come in and have a great game eg as against Chelsea, but he's also prone to errors, you don't really know what you're going to get from him.

Evans more closely fits the profile of what is required of a 4th choice cb. He wouldn't win many motm awards but he would do a job with the minimum of fuss.

I would prefer a younger 4th cb, but Evans ticks plenty of boxes.

Can you imagine the scenes if he gave a penalty away or even worse against the rags. Not sure on this one
