Should of had the callup a few years ago... has a decent scoring record in the EPL aswell, not just a roughhouse player.

He's 33... a few years ago maybe but it's games like this where you need to give the future a go, players like Andy Carroll need a chance over a 33 year old. The chances are Davies will play this break then wont turnout for England again after this season.

He is just the next in a long line of typical English center forwards, holds the ball up well, good in the air, works hard, physical but ultimately nearly every team in South Africa and other major competitions had/will have more technically gifted strikers.

It is like the countries exploits at the World Cup have been forgotten. I thought the terrible display was meant to signal a fresh start by bringing ball players in?

No offence to Davies, he has been consistently good but for christs...........change the tune!
