I wouldn't expect Pep to sacrifice results for the sake of playing young players any more than Pellegrini did, or anymore than he did at Bayern. He will only play the younger players if they are good enough to play in the team without the performance of the first team dropping. Otherwise they will go out on loan and return when ready, or not.
There is a huge gap between EDS and first team only exceptional players will make that jump without regular football, and for most that will be loans away somewhere. Probably for a couple of years.
Yes we are bringing in younger players that have been playing regularly at their clubs, but regularly at clubs not expecting to win leagues or reach the last four of champions league regularly.
Have a look at our 1st team and at our younger players in last 2 seasons and you'll see they were good enough for the 1st team, at least they were better than Caballeros, Demichelises, Navases, Fernandos and Bonys usually were. Because they had a lot of desire, with abilities being there too. Just look at the Chelsea game where the younger ones were way better than the olders.

If signing these Laportes and Sanes at all (why putting this french é letter since he was born in Germany and even plays for their NT and it doesn't even exist in their alphabet?), then sign them while they're u20s and/or on youth contracts. Laporte was already considered as a talent as 16-17 year old, Sane played vs us in Youth League just last february. And developed that much since. Being a bit offtopic, but that's so disgusting to see where Barker is now, Manuel and 1st teamers should've treaten him better.

Anyway, it's such an awful and money-bag transfer strategy, to buy players for 60m euro that we could've buy much earlier for the positions we already have our own youngsters at.
With all due respect, that is a load of bollocks.

If it was so simple, why isn't every 'young talent' now worth £40+ million? Because no-one knows how they would develop. If you want City to scatter gun every known talent sure, go ahead. Strange enough. As a club our size, and other equally sized clubs around Europe, we can't afford to be playing youth players out of goodwill for what they may become. That isn't to say we should never play any; Kelechi shows that and hopefully Pep will use the youth squads to ease the burden on the first team, which in turn will provide them with opportunities.

Even if you were right, it doesn't change my point, that I wouldn't be expecting Pep to suddenly introduce players from the academy straight into the first team, most will need to go on loan. How many Bayern academy players did he introduce to the first team in his 3 years ?

No idea, but remember that we trashed them every time we played them in Youth League.

This is what loans are for.

Turns out, he does have a good header in him. Sign him up then Pep, cuz the way we're going, we'll have a team of midgets. :p

Are you actually complaining over the fact his name has an é in it?

His father is Souleyman Sané, a Senegalese footballer who played in Germany.

French is the official language of....Senegal.

Your whole point is ridiculous anyway, maybe these kids didn't want to move when they were 16? Maybe they were correctly advised that staying at a smaller club and getting lots of game time would be better for their careers than going to a massive clubs academy and playing youth football instead.

Why would you look at his Bayern record and not his Barcelona record? Because only one seemingly backs up your point?

At Barcelona he brought through 28 players in 4 years and none of them went on loan.

Bayerns academy is shit, in Pep Confidential, Rumminigge and the head of their academy even say as much, the recent academy production isn't up to scratch and they recently overhauled it with input from Guardiola.

Pep's use of youth here will be much closer to his Barcelona days than his Bayern tenure.
