I have an iPod touch that I need to get into.

Trouble is I don't know the 4 digit passcode and I don't have the PC that it was synced to with iTunes.

A long shot I know - but any techie wizard know how I can get to the files on the device?

It's not nicked or anything - it's a genuine request!

It has huge sentimental value to me so I would appreciate some help.

Your data should be still available on i tunes if you've previously synched and you can restore it from there. Good luck

Cheers mate. Will that wipe the data? If so it's no good for me as it's the content I want to get to?

That will wipe the data!

One thing you can try is to plug your iPod into your PC, go to Start-Control Panel- Folder Options and ensure that 'Show hidden files' is checked. Once it is, you should be able to access your iPod as if it were a portable disc drive and see all the items stored to your iPod in the folders that are now on show.

One word of warning, the iPod will have all of your music and other data stored randomly and spread out amongst the numerous folders. It is best to just copy and paste the lot to your PC and then import all of the folders into iTunes on your own PC.

Ok thanks very much - I'll give that a try!
