The main difficulty with Jo is the Robinho conundrum. No one and he most certainly would not tolerate it, the role of sitting on the bench.
Similarly he doesn;t want the left wing role, he wants a free role.
Left wing is the main area that needs filling, in the absense of Petrov, we need a top class winger.
Hughes would plump for Downing, we and the board want Messi.
The problem with playing `Love or Adriano alongside Jo is that it leaves no position for Robinho.
So Jo is the likely player to be sacrificed unfortunately.
midfield will read
SWP KOMPANY IRELAND PETROV
OR
SWP DIARRA IRELAND MESSI
SWP DIARRA IRELAND DOWNING
SWP DIARRA IRELAND KAKA
THE TEAM WILL THEN LINE UP AS ASSUMING FIT HOME, WITH ROBINHO AS 1ST NAME ON SHEET PLAYING 4 4 1 1
1 HART
2 ZABALETA
3 BRIDGE/GARRIDO
4 RICHARDS
5 KOMPANY
7 SWP
6 DIARRA
8 IRELAND/JOHNSON
11 ? PETROV DOWNING MESSI KAKA
10 ROBINHO
9 ? RSC ADRIANO LOVE
AWAY
HART
ZABALETA
BRIDGE
DUNNE
RICHARDS
SWP
DIARRA
KOMPANY
IRELAND
ROBINHO
RSC OR ANOTHER.
So Hughes hand is forced by the fact that the team has to be built around Robinho and I don;t think there is a player in the squad or on the terraces who would disagree.
The likely imports are Bridge Diarra Downing RSC.
The mega signings will take some persuading to join, or salaries to eclipse even Robinho,
Jo is only likely to play as a two prong attack when Robinho is injured, additionally only likely to prosper when Robinho is injured long term. God forbid.
So sorry to say he is the most likely player to go.
SWP IRELAND KOMPANY DIARRA PETROV (IF FIT) ROBINHO ARE ALWAYS LIKELY TO BE THE 1ST NAMES ON THE TEAM SHEET.
It would have been interesting to see what would have happened with Jo if Bojinov had been fit.
It would be likely that Ireland would have been the one dropped.
