I can be more understanding of signing players from abroad and it not working, but it should be much clearer whether players who have been playing in the League will be compatible.Philips helped with our English/Association trained quota.
Kalvin starred at the Euros, so no one could envisage how far off the pace he'd be at City.
Looking back at it, it's pretty obvious City realised his acquisition was a mistake from early on, hence why we wanted to move him on after 12 months.

Not so much the English quota, but we were near the limit with foreign players, so the logical move was to opt for the best of British, hence a move for Philips.Phillips made no difference to the homegrown quota, we already had 4.Just a signing that didn’t work out, we don’t have many these days but for most clubs and us in the past it’s a fairly regular occurrence.
We’ve just got used to it not being us.

It does matter if you need quality recruits & you're up to your foreign quota. Going British or using the academy are our only recruitment options, unless we lose a foreign player & replace them with one.makes no difference once u are over the 4.

the nationally trained quota, you are allowed 4, we had 5 even before we signed Phillips. Any DM coming in was going in the Non-HG pot regardless of nationality.Is there a British quota?
