Luton Town (A) | FA Cup | Post Match Thread

It's not right though, there are people betting on outcomes of games (I'm not one of them).

I'm sure the players were happy, no chance of injury etc, but that's not the point, the rules being ignored are.

Obviously nobody will make anything of it, but it's simply not in his remit to add no time at all.
Of course it is and ever was. That's the rules.
We don't have a clock referee.

Ah, and of course it's the risk of betting men.

I actually prefer City playing away from the Etihad
There’s more onus on the home team to give their supporters something to cheer.
Games at the Etihad seem to have been a battle of attrition this season
Tonight was a one off cup tie, if Luton want to progress they need to play, it wouldn't really matter if it was home or away.

A league game is very different, most teams want to reduce the risk of getting beaten (or getting a hammering), especially at our place where it's more likely, so they all stick 10 behind the ball, and unless we score early it becomes a slog (far to regularly), united will do it on Sunday.

Let’s hope they defend like they did against Fulham.

No he can't, he should be adding time for goals and subs, and any other stoppages, they're the rules.

Personally I couldn't give a shit at 6-2 up, but what happens on Sunday in the derby, at 1-1, with City pressing, is that also up to the referee to give no added time ?
yes if he decides that no time is to be added on then he is well within his rights to! He obviously wont do that tho when a game is close.

The ref did exactly the same thing in the cup final when we beat Watford 6-0. it happens all the time when a team is well beaten

Just home. Whose bright idea was it to close the exit from the M1 onto the M6 when City are playing in Luton? Something like that happens every time we play down south. Rags everywhere, infiltrated the department of transport now. Thank fuck for the A50 otherwise it would have been Chesterfield, Fordy territory!!

It shouldn't. Law 7.

Allowance is made by the referee in each half for all playing time lost in that half through:
  • substitutions
  • assessment and/or removal of injured players
  • wasting time
  • disciplinary sanctions
  • medical stoppages permitted by competition rules e.g. ‘drinks’ breaks (which should not exceed one minute) and ‘cooling’ breaks (ninety seconds to three minutes)
  • delays relating to VAR 'checks' and 'reviews'
  • goal celebrations
  • any other cause, including any significant delay to a restart (e.g. due to interference by an outside agent)
