Evening blues!

A few mates and I are planning on coming down to Manchester from Dundee for a few nights out in October. We came down for the first time last summer to see the Stone Roses at the Etihad and ended up singing ABBA in a karaoke bar in Chinatown after mistaking Canal Street for a load of clubs. Would rather not make that mistake again, any insight to nightlife would be appreciated! Also any ideas on where to stay?

Depends what your after. Can't beat NQ for me some on here slag it off but loads of bars/pubs no mither good atmosphere.
