I've always used the term "gelted" for someone who's got a lot of money "that guy is gelted"

Oh and I use "lagging it down" if it's raining.

People seem to know what I'm on about though, but I never hear anyone else say either of them.

I'd never heard this until a Brummie said it to me. Had to apply logic to understand what he was on about.

My wife is from Nottingham, they all call food "snap" round them parts


If i am not mistaken the term is taken from military times when people used a snap box for food?
