It all feds into his obsession with being the "Main Character".This is most probably why no bigger club ever went and got him, Southampton needed him for the wonder goals from nowhere and put up with the lunacy.
Had to be the main man at Southampton. Like you said, other clubs wouldn't put up with any of that.
Any manager that wanted to built a team that was anything other than all about him was an attack against him personally.
Covid was an attack on him personally.
