Keown had a full on meltdown on TalkShite this morning.

Claimed Brighton rolled over for us last night and claimed the other 5 teams we play will roll over and it's a shame "Magnificent" Arsenal probably won't win the league.

Even Jordan defended us!
I thought the same when Arsenal played them the other week, funny he doesn't remember that, first class dick head Keown

Maybe Arsenal would have been in a better position if they’d come and actually had a go when they needed to win at the Etihad the other week. keon can’t be pointing the fingers at teams doing favours for City.

The press continue to be deliberately disengenous (posh lying) regarding VAR. Lots of us said at the start that the issue is, you have the same guys making the decisions on VAR as the same muppets making the same mistakes on the pitch.

They complain about consistency, but that in itself is consistent. The problem isn't with the technology, it's with the application of the rules ( and some rules), but the press continue to ignore it as mistakes means outrage and that generates clicks and feeds advertising. They are loving the forest shit show. They fume about Antony but ignore TAA.

They could improve referring standards and VAR decisions by having accountable and constructive feedback after every game instead of the back slapping that goes on at the moment. It's obvious from the comments Dean and the other poisoned dwarf make on Sly. The press love it all.
I remember reading somewhere about cricket umpires re looking at decisions they made after every day of a game. Looking at how to improve their decisions. Yes, they get challenged during the game but most of the time they get it correct. When you think that the cricket ball is travelling a lot quicker than a football and how quickly they need to make a decision they muct be doing something right. I wonder how many of our refs go through their decision making after every game learning from mistakes? That’s rhetorical by the way.

It's interesting to think about the vocabulary the media on the whole uses about City even when they are (supposedly) praising us. "Relentless." "Ominous." "Machine." "Unstoppable."

They are all words with deeply negative connotations.

Actually, we play beautiful football. We innovate by bringing defenders into central midfield and inverting our full backs. We play our way through high presses with instant, one touch football. We play no-look passes because we know where our team mates are going to be. We cut through defences with team goals like a knife through butter (how many times have we seen a far-post tap in come at the end of a 20 pass move?). We score top corner thunderbastards from 20+ yards. Our wide players bring 40 yard cross-field balls under instant control. Our goalkeeper, no less, pings highly accurate 60 yard balls into spaces we can exploit behind high defensive lines. Oscar Bobb and Jeremy Doku excite crowds by taking on defenders one-on -one. Even our big, old-fashioned centre forward (Kevin de Bruyne) bangs his headers into the top corner from 12 yards out.

The vocabulary used to describe us invokes none of these things. There's a piss funny Jaws Paddy Power thing from last season where some grizzled old scouser tells a bunch of Arsenal fans in a bar what it's like being hunted down by City, and he talks about our black lifeless eyes. That's a parody - I think - but it's not actually a million miles away from the way the Telegraph and the Mail describe it.

Those words I've used above. "Ominous." "Machine." "Relentless." Even when they are complimenting us - through their gritted teeth - it's a long way from the way they used to describe Arse or the rags back in the day.

It's how they'd describe the fucking Terminator.
Totally with you on this.

Although I have to say, I'm also beginning to enjoy the smell of everyone else's beshiten pants when we get into this mode and they know what's on it's way...

oh you mean new tactics like inverting your fullbacks, playing a false nine, bringing a defender into midfield, funny how the press never wanted new tactics when the gpc was playing his fast wingers and hoof it in the box tactics, thats the thing with geniuses and dullards, geniuses solve the problem before you knew it was a problem and dullards criticise them because denigrating them is the only way they can attach themselves to them.
