Media Discussion - 2023/24

We cling to mediocrity like limpets in this country.
The safety and comfort of never having to be outstanding.
We despise and fear and are seemingly cowed by success, particularly the enormous kind that City are currently achieving.
There has to be something wrong with it because that’s how they rationalise it.

The Premier League will have to sort things out now....Rio Ferdinand has told them to 'Get This Done'. Thanks Rio. You really know your onions.

I tried to explain to a dipper that this is an old story, even showed him the original post. Explained that it was an employee from each department having some football chat amongst themselves.

Wouldn't have it one bit.

Damage is already done.
"Trying to explain to a dipper" you really should know better.

A nothing story imo.

Anyone who thought communication wasn’t ongoing during gardening leave or that job negotiations/offers weren’t taking place before official notification to the relevant club is far too naive to hold such a senior position.

At most it’s an opportunity to aim a small dig at the other party during arbitration, but beyond that rather insignificant.

Hard to understand why ! the only thing I can come up with is all news good or bad is good for the club, at least we are being talked about.

I don't get City's position on dealing with the media.

They've crossed the line and are way over it. Calling the achievements meaningless and worse.

But come next season the doors will be wide open for them, hospitality laid on.

I know a trainee solicitor that worked for City and he said the media department at City is very chummy with the journalists. Which is probably part of the problem, they don't want to ban friends.

Man City icon's son hits back at title win claim

Don't know if this has already been posted but that plastic scouse nobhead Jonathan Liew gets told what time it is by The Kings son.

Go on Jon Bell, give it the pompus prick.

Shouldn't be left to the son of a former City legend to hit back at all the crap that's been written about City this week.

The club just sit on their hands and allow it.

When they, through current or former players, should be calling out the redshirt bias - that the football media in this country is stuffed with utd and liverpool fans - and that's why we're getting no credit.

It's OK to shout up about getting it done but, remember, these are charges, not verdicts, and if any individual has to appear in court on a charge then it is up to the accuser to prove their case, not for the accused to prove their innocence. That it is taking so long to even reach the courtroom just shows the lack of enough, if any, evidence to make any of this to stick.

1. Innocent until proven guilty has been lost on all the former playing pundits (carragher and neville) and the hoards of morons on twitter.

2. The amount of time it takes to get to court has no relation to the strength of any evidence.
