Maybe some of them feel pressured by their peers in this instance(Cheesy for example). They should take a step back though and think about what United fans in particular really want. They've envisioned a scenario where United could have spent over $2bn without the Glazers talking half of it and then football would have been fine in their book. Not to mention it was the Glazers' connections through Woodward that drove a lot of their growth but the inequality in revenues and spending power was the real problem. That's what attracted billionaires in the first place, that's what prompted them to want a closed shop to cement their places.

Bringing in a 50+1 rule from here wouldn't change much for the big 6 anyway, the revenues are what they are now. United's revenues are falling and City are set to overtake them or they were before COVID hit. I seem to remember reading that in the Deloitte money league reports, I think it was. The rest of the PL would fall further behind is all would likely happen in my opinion, the opposite of what they are preaching.

As someone pointed out earlier there were demonstrations about the Glazers when they first bought the club on tick. However, three league wins, a couple of domestic cups & a CL victory seemed to quieten down the anti-Glazer feeling, until City & Spurs began to disrupt their cosy cartel.

In fact, he'd be happily spinning the 'ESL spells a bigger financial benefit to the football pyramid than they're currently getting' narrative, just as they did with the PL.
