Muffin or Barm

Re: Barm or Muffin

I recently asked for a chip muffin in Bristol. The whole queue just went silent and stared at me like I'd just shit on the counter. They didn't have a clue what a muffin was. I had to settle for one of them sesame seed burger buns with chips on it.

Good job you didn't ask for "pea-wet", they'd have burned you alive.

Re: Barm or Muffin

Lived in yorkshire for 8 years after Dad moved us out of manchester due to his job, they call them breadcakes! wtf is that!

Then moved to huddersfield and its become rolls or tea cakes.

Always been muffins to me.

The funny bit is, if they ask for a bacon roll, they get a bacon muffin.

If they ask for a sausage roll they get the long pastry things, it becomes a sausage teacake then!

Fookin tykes.
