I'm coming over to Manchester next week and staying at a hotel at Salford Quays.

Which is the best train station to go to, to get there? Can I get a bus there from City Centre?

Depends where abouts in Salford Quays you are staying - but trams and bus service is well run round that area.

Assume you are coming into Picadilly station?

Yes tram .

Depending on whereabouts your hotel is (Ramamada/Copthorne/Holiday inn) , there's two or three tram stops in the Salford Quays area ......... trams can be caught from city centre Manchester.

not running in the city centre for a good few weeks the trams.

to use tram will either have to get a shuttle bus that leaves from bottom of piccadilly station, which is opposite the rank of black cabs at bottom of station ( not the front part) or walk to St Peters Square.

incorrect, it is running but only from st peters sqaure.

It would appear that the tram stop named 'Salford Quays' itself is the closest one to your hotel , so that appears to be the one you'll need to get off at.

Not sure about the lockers situation ...... but there could well be some at Piccadilly station itself.
