Newcastle Thread - 2023/24

He’d be better without clowns like Longstaff and Willock around him.Not good enough for a team looking to finish top 4 every season.
There are so many teams capable of being in the top four now - its going to be a rotation every season which is good for the game. I think Poch will make Chelsea more competitive next year, Emre embedding his news buys at Villa...no guarantees - good for the game mind you.

“Empty trophy cabinets, empty trophy cabinets…….
and plenty of empty seats and empty terraces over the years when they were not winning...City on the other hand...they don't like stats though, this ''we are a small club thing before takeover'' that they fire at City holds no water yet we don't rebut it enough (the meeja won't that's for sure) Since they got a win over US ironically, in 1955 we have won so much more before the takeover... Won the League / European Cup Winners Cup / FA Cup 2 x / League Cup 2 x plus a lot of runners up spots - interesting to look at average attendances since then and league placings... basically every measure of being a bigger club...might make this a weekend pursuit!! we should do this v every opponent and post it on their forums... Many will still just say 'that's just facts though' and carry on lol! So... in column one - Proper Trophies we are 7 ...SEVEN trophies ahead BEFORE 2008 take over...Haven't had time to look at average league position 55 - 2008 yet

They beat us too - in a time when there were no subs and we lost one of our best players, full back Jimmy Meadows, to injury on 17 mins yet we equalised when down to 10 men and got to half time. It would have needed a miracle to win it though and sure enough we lost 3-1.
Oh and we had 34 years of shit since then. So goodness knows what they've been like.
Since then we have been so much better - we have won 7 major trophies since NUFC beat a ten man City...they really need to do some research. We should call out these modern day idiots who cite small club etc... not being able to read some basic football stats... its easier then trawling through football books as proper football fans used to do. Shows them up as not being that passionate about the game if they are not interested in reading about it!

Tonali in hot water again for betting early in the season been charged.
If they hadn't spent a shedload on this guy they would surely have been considering cancelling his contract. Looks like they're stuck with an unusable asset who may well be facing yet another lengthy suspension.
Someone at the Toon clearly didn't do due diligence.

romano posted that he was betting in england when he was already suspended for betting in italy. that guy is a moron.

if he gets another ban will newcastle just keep paying his salary?

You’d think that they would have grounds to sack him for breach of contract.
