Not sure if the mods are going along the suggestion of having player threads for performances only but I feel he needs his own thread after tonights performance.

Thought he was a rock tonight, when it wasn't Joe Hart bailing us out, it was him. That clearance off the line with 2 or 3 sunderland players around him was brilliant. That tackle that he got booked for was immense. MOTM tonight.

Scares the shit out of me but love his aggression at the same time.

This is not the mark of a good defender in an organised side.

He made several terrible decisions tonight.... that contributed to the general chaos... that led to us making dozens of last-gasp clearances.

To be honest bar Yaya in the 1st half, I thought every midfielder was very poor tonight. When your midfield doesn't show up your defence is bound to be exposed.

Some overseas players take a while to settle and adapt, Demichellis was much the same both of them have had spells where they have been roundly slated by fans. Like Demichellis, Otemendi seems now to be getting there and what a good player he is beginning to look.

Bollocks

point them out then?

There were numerous. He slid in to block a cross that didn't even come in in the first half, that allowed for them to cut back to an unmarked player who shot in the box but went miles over. He dived in second half needlessly on the edge of his box, was left scrambling for the ball on the floor as they got the ball back and attempted a silva esque slide rule pass down the side of him, only Sagna's brilliant covering prevented it from going through. Constantly went missing first half and left the line that MDM brilliantly holds. Fernando covered his arse numerous times second half so it wasn't that noticeable, first half it was though as yaya wasn't doing the covering Fernando did.

He gets far too tight to defenders in and around the box in an attempt to nick the ball, the Strikers have learnt it's easy to just use your body and roll him to put him out of the game completely. Defoe did it to him a few times today as has Lukaku about a dozen times over the last month.

He's a superb tackler, very good in the air, especially considering his size, and has decent enough pace and physicality but he gets so many of the absolute basics wrong.
