Manchester City make West Ham child prodigy, aged just NINE, a transfer priority

Manchester City have made a nine-year-old child prodigy a summer transfer priority.
Manuel Pellegrini will embark on another multi-million spending spree ahead of next season, with Porto pair Eliaquim Mangala and Fernando leading contenders to arrive at the Etihad Stadium.
But the title-chasing club are also hot on the heels of West Ham sensation Omari Forson, who is 10-years-old in July.

Massive things are expected of the youngster, who has been at the Upton Park club since the age of five.
Forson has played a starring role for the Hammers’ Under 10s and 11s this season - and his performances have caught the attention of City scouts.
The Hammers are desperate to keep hold of the quick left-footed forward, who has been likened to Paris St Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but fear City’s growing status as a European superpower could be too much to resist.
The prospect of being part of City’s burgeoning academy plans is understood to to be a key selling point for Forson’s family.
City are set to move into a new £100m training facility this summer, which includes brand new state-of-the-art youth football facilities.

Just 9yr old...

This 'story' is from over a month ago...

The transfer forum's bad enough, nevermind talking about signing 9 year olds

Meh, plenty of great young prospects in that age group.
The OP is more than right to highlight youngster's who have potential, after all isn't that one of the main reasons we've invested millions in a state of the art academy?

There were two potentially great 7 year old's who City let go 12 months ago. One was considered in the top three 8 year olds in the country having scored 143 goals the season before last and the other was a central defender/midfielder who plays like a cross between between Yaya and Kompany.

City allowed them both to be snapped up by Everton and ManUre respectively. The forward was that good that Liverpool tried to poach him before he signed on the dotted line for Everton by reportedly offering his parents £1000 per month in 'expenses' to sign for them.

City came back for both in the latter stages of this season, but the kid's parent's had alfready made their minds up as to whrere their sons' were going and I have a horrible feeling these losses may come back to haunt us in years to come. Both boy's played a practice match for their Sunday teams against our U7's last season and the City youngsters were soundly beaten 7-1 & 6-1 in both matches! Both players come from the same youth team as the young lad who brought out the Premier League trophy during its presentation a few weeks ago and both are considered better prospects than that kid who's apparently very highy regarded in our U12's.

We've only just started to get our act together regarding young players, but we still have a long way to go to catch Everton & Southampton who've apparently got the best youth set-ups in the country. Hopefully with the new campus coming on stream soon, we'll be ready to ramp up the already decent set up we have into world class one.

There'll always be the 'one that got away' but don't ever discount the importance of getting them whilst they're still young, because even if they don't make it with us there's always the chance of a good sell on fee if they ultimately don't make the grade.

Wll done OP for making this thread. Whether its in the right forum or not is for the Mods to decide.
