But there are other incentives. When we win a trophy and other win bonuses the players all get a very healthy reward on top of their 'lower' wages. This stop players resting on their laurels.

Yeah but when you are signing for someone then you'd rather pick guaranteed 150k per week than maybe 150k.

That's when you should question the player's motives. The incentives weeds out the players who rest on their laurels and we don't pay peanuts as a starting wage in any case.

I wouldn't say so. Incentives are mainly team related and are not only single player's responsibility and motivation. They can work for players you already have and who are happy to be there but if you're signing new player, top one wanted by other top clubs he won't care too much about your "maybe" money, he'll take the guaranteed one at other club.

We don't pay peanuts to begin with new player or not.

We got our hands tied with the Financial Fair Play Ruling so the club has to be that extra bit creative.

Will we ever be free from this FFP bullshit and allowed to compete fairly for players with debt-ridden clubs who sell millions of red spoons and duvet covers in Japan and those who are handed money by the Spanish government?

Of course we will. Only 5 teams in the world make more money than us (note not oil money I am talking revenue). That is a remarkable fact given where we were 7 years ago. Our economic model is blowing all the big boys away.

That's fine, I never argued that. Just argued that Pellegrini doesn't have same freedom as Mancini and Hughes did.

Is Negredo only the second player(A.Johnson) since the takeover we are going to sell at a profit on what we paid?
