PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

United not happy with the proposed PSR regs

That's weird. They have already agreed a squad cost to revenue ratio. They are now looking at anchoring it to the lowest club's revenue as well?

They shouldn't be looking at restricting investment at the top, that will just reduce competitiveness in Europe. They should be looking at encouraging investment in the middle and at the bottom.

As Masters said: "Football is successful because it has had investment, investment from all over the world coming into this country and investing on the pitch for fans to really enjoy. We don't want that to be choked off, we want that model to continue."

I don’t think that’s practical. You cannot make people invest. And you cannot persuade them not in football anyway. That’s normally done by government policy tax cuts subsidies. That’s not suitable for football unless you want the state to help with stadiums etc like they do in other countries

…….so remove investment restrictions from clubs not subject to UEFA limits. You know it makes sense.

I’ve posted this in the media thread, but feel it’s worth putting on here too - for those who don’t delve into the cesspit of press musings …
Wow, Simon Jordon has seen the light! I can’t do links but I’ll write his words from the Mail …
on FFP - “it is clear to me now that it is the ultimate form of protectionism. Ask yourself who are the people making these rules? When you work backwards from that, you start to work out why these rules were brought in. It’s pulling up the drawbridge and making it virtually impossible to break into the elite“.
Wtf has happened?
