There but for the grace of god.

People would do well to remember that sometimes.

Good point - every so often us City fans ought to be shown the video of the Stockport County away game (or the Bury home game) just to remind us where we;ve come from and how close we were to staying right down therre.

Ah, Bury home.

That made York away look like a fucking pick nick.

We're going to have to stop this thread here. Any more mention of York, Stockport, Bury, Wycombe etc is going to plunge me into some sort of post traumatic disorder.

OP is right - Pompey fans are giving it a go and should be applauded.

I lived in Pompy for a while and still have family there. I met quite a few of their fans and they are pretty much like fans everywhere, a decent bunch with a few dickheads,
Sometime though, a period in a clubs history helps to define it's fanbase and through a combination of loyalty, grit and self depreciating humour, they shine and become a credit to their city/town and their club.
City fans did this during the dark days and AFC Wimbledon fans are doing it now, as it seems are Pompy fans.
The other end of the spectrum are the rags. At the first sniff of trouble, a good proportion of them had a hissy fit and set up FCUM. A bunch of humourless traitors who think they are somehow better than everyone else.

A good mate of mine is a pompey fan.

Blames Redknapp for a lot of what went on and the resulting disaster financially since.

Good loyal fans.Hope they get back.

Those fucking pissers at the away end were god damn awful mind!

Why is Redknapp responsible for the financies? The board goes over the financies.

Four years ago, they had just won the FA Cup and were playing European football. Now, they're facing the possibility of either
A. Going bust, or
B. Dropping into the REAL 4th division.

Whereas 4 years ago, winning the Cup was something a lot on here would have a power wank over. How times change (for both clubs).
