Positives To Take From Today

There are no positives to be taken from defeat in a semi final to your biggest rivals.
True, but, you can have a reality check and possibly accept that events, fixtures and injuries conspired against us at the weekend and 4 games against top qualty opposition in less than 2 weeks - 2 of which were against our greatest rivals and arguably the 2nd best team in the world - when they had had the good fortune to be able to rest their 1st teamers and we couldn't - was a bridge too far for us yesterday.
Use this perspective and keep the faith.

We were shite but nowhere near full strength.
We were actually much better after Pep introduced everyone to each other at half time.
Liverpool were pretty much at full strength and were also shite.

Bodes well for when we get them in the CL final.
Something tells me we both wont get to the final. Villareal could surprise us. CTID

We were supposed to play Wolves away this weekend (if we had not been in the semi) We would have had to play them in an exhausted state after Madrid and losing would have cost us the the League and been worse than losing the semi-final.
Good point. Playing Wolves with the team we had on Saturday would’ve probably have got a draw at best.

We won’t take anyone or anything for granted, but we won’t face a pAthletico performance again, I’m sure. I think we are capable of beating anyone.
Yesterday’s selection and lack of substitutions tells me Pep is taking nothing for granted in the PL and CL and that these are our main focus.

We've been better than them in two league games but only managed a pair of 2-2 draws. Beating them in Paris is what matters (assuming we both get there), not being better than them.`

We are better as a team overall but the crucial thing is they score from fewer opportunities.
Given the number of chances we squander, I think this team is doing remarkably well without a striker of note.

Rather than looking fwd to Paris if we make it, I am now dreading it just because of their fans. They are the most vilest bunch of self-entitled wankers ever. Just know it’ll kick off with them at some point and will ruin what could be the greatest night of my/our City-supporting lives.
