They have improved the defence, definitely, but they have had a huge amount of good fortune, at both ends of the pitch & often at key moments in games.

Shoulda woulda coulda. You can say that about us as well. Everton could have bagged 3 in the last 20 mins last week against us. Lyon could have been out of sight by half time, and it was panic stations once Watford grabbed one back. Last month or so we’ve looked very shaky at the back. Largely due to indifferent displays from our full backs IMO, cos Stones and Laporte look imperious

It's true we should have conceded more.

And probably should have scored twice as many goals as Liverpool.

They are defending 'ok' not brilliantly, as their current goals against record suggests, & should also be out of the Champions League.
