Problem with emails

I am unable to open some of my emails and can't send any. When I try to send one I get an error message 'An unexpected HTTP status code was returned for your request'

What does that mean and what can I do about it? Any suggestions?

Your mail server might be temporarily down, though I'm not sure that would stop you opening the mails you already have.
Have you tried googling the full message?

Thanks for the link BT, I've tried that but it's still being temperamental

I’ve googled it (never thought of that) but really it’s like a foreign language to me, can't understand a word of it.

My PC is just throwing a wobbly I think, as my daughter can't access MSN and I’ve had problems with other websites.
