Under the Tory proposals the system would be overseen by an independent regulator with the power to compel internet service providers (ISPs) to block sites which failed to include effective age verification.

I just can't believe people lie when the button pops up asking if you're 18..

On a serious note, any ideas on how this could be implemented? Don't fancy giving out my credit card details or scanning my passport every time I want to crack one out.

More rhetoric and another unenforceable and undeliverable piece of legislation (if it happens) based on populist vote grabbing policies that just will not work.

Really need more detail about how, but for now I just think... why? Why give the opposition another branch to beat you with at the next election when you fail to deliver.

So cheap!

Politicians telling the nation how old people should be before engaging in sexual voyeurism. Now there's irony.

They can always sneak a peak at mum and dad for voyeurism. (Assuming they still do IT)
The hardcore stuff is where it's at. Degradation of women and such.. then again.. Some women like being slapped/sodomized/prostituted... apparently.

It's all very subjective. How you teach a kid that I don't know.

None. Absolutely none at all.

Any politician who suggests this should be done should be immediately recognised by the electorate as somebody who doesn't understand the world's biggest and most popular communications tool. They should be ridiculed and branded as as out of touch as a wind up gramophone.

This is an instant vote loser for me. If you're an elected politician you should be able to work a phone, use the internet, read an email and essentially be able to function in the modern world. This is as disgraceful as an MP admitting that they cannot count.

You cannot ban pornography on the internet nor age gate it successfully. Anybody who has used it for ten minutes could tell you this.
