Pubs In Hamburg

As an exiled Blue whose lived in Hamburg for 9 years now,just thought i´d post this to give those of you who´ve maybe not been to Hamburg before, a few tips to help you enjoy the trip.
HOTELS:- forget the City Centre unless the credit crunch hasn´t reached you yet.You should get a room in St Pauli or Altona for about 45 Euro a night.
PUBS:- It´s up to you,but my advice would be to avoid the pubs on the Reeperbahn.They´re basically over priced tourist rip-off joints imo!Cross over the Reeperbahn from Burger King and there´s side streets running away from the Reeperbahn with lots of local German pubs,where you´ll get a decent beer for 2Euro.
Best Irish pub in town -imo- is the Shamrock on Feldstrasse (<a class="postlink" href="http://www.shamrockirishpub.de" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.shamrockirishpub.de</a>).Sky and Setanta here.It may not open before 6p.m but deffo after the game.
Couple of good German pubs, the St Pauli Eck,corner of Simon von Utrecht Str and Hein Hoyer Str and Günthers on Thadenstrasse - i´m converting them to the cause!!
All 3 pubs are 5 mins walk from the S-Bahn station Reeperbahn and/or U-Bahn station,Feldstrasse.Go to <a class="postlink" href="http://www.hvv.de" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.hvv.de</a> and click on English version.It gives you info about travelling around on the trains and buses,with maps etc.
FOOD:- Burger king,McDonalds and K.F.C are allroughly in the middle of the Reeperbahn-loads of German sausage stands
and Turkish Kebab shops.(Kalb means Veal and Hänchen means Chicken) Post no2 to follow!

We were heading on to the Reeperbahn but thanks to Hamburgblue for that info.
Sounds like now we will be going where it is a bit cheaper.
