Pulp are doing a one off gig in Sheffield on the 8th December. I reckon it would be a decent affair! It's the Derby though that day!!

Derby on at Saturday at 3pm? No chance!

It'll either be 12.45 or on Sunday. Or Monday.

Gonna try get a couple for this. Our game will hopefully be moved to 12:45 on sat, so will be in sheff for 5 celebrating another Derby win

Utter class. Despite Oasis and Blur dominating the late '90's music scene, Common People remains the anthem of the decade.

Do you think? Not arguing that it is one of the anthems but would people consider that the anthem of the 90's? More than Wonderwall or Don't look back in Anger? More than Creep? More than Parklife? Bittersweet Symphany? Alright?

Could debate all day.

I would say so yes although the songs you mention are all with Common People in the same category. We're both winners John.

If you're going to the o2, for food try Mama's & Leonie's ribs, warning though, with the full portion you'll be stuffed.

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.mamas.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.mamas.co.uk/</a>

Couple of pubs next door, one's a Wetherspoons type, the other a trad real ale place, The Brown Bear.

These 3 are on Norfolk Street, which is across the road from o2 & runs at the side of the Crucible Theatre.

For real ale go to Kelham Island (S3), there's about 3 or 4 of them, Kelham Island Tavern, Fat Cat, can't remember the others and The Harlequin a bit further away.

After the gig go to The Harlequin. Seen some great live music in there, blues n rock. Met Ian Broudie from Lightning Seeds in there after they supported Squeeze.
