Queues outside M1 turnstiles and over the top security

You’re not going to believe this, but I was asked to open my coat again.

Perhaps it’s because it’s a black coat and the steward thought I was a Mib attempting to get into the City end?

I pulled the zip less than hallway down. I looked at the steward, the steward looked at me……



I pulled the zip back up.

I totally forgot to take metal bottle opener out of my pocket yesterday and it wasn't picked up by the wand!!

I totally forgot to take metal bottle opener out of my pocket yesterday and it wasn't picked up by the wand!!

I sometimes have a knurled metal pen clipped to my jeans pocket and the wand never picks it up.
I think that the wand will only pick up a certain mass of metal, e.g. a large knife or gun.
Smaller metal objects such as pens, keys, coat buttons etc. do not register on the wand.
